The Requirement

In late 2023, UHCW NHS Trust encountered major setbacks in their EPR programme, which delayed the training schedule and stalled progress towards the system’s go-live. By early 2024, the Trust urgently needed 15 Cerner Trainers to restart the training process and get the project back on track. With a tight deadline, they needed immediate and dependable support to avoid further delays.

The project required rapid recruitment and deployment of expert resources to support the Trust in achieving its revised timeline for EPR implementation.

Main Objectives:

  • Rapidly source 15 Cerner Trainers to restart the EPR training process.
  • Ensure all trainers were fully compliant and ready to start immediately.
  • Prevent further delays and keep the EPR go-live timeline on course.
  • Provide ongoing support to fill key EPR roles, such as Test Analysts, Change Partners, and Workstream Leads.
  • Facilitate the smooth implementation and rollout of the EPR system across the Trust.

Rapid Sourcing And Placement Of 15 Cerner Trainers

In February 2024, UHCW urgently needed 15 Cerner Trainers to restart their EPR training programme, which had been on hold since October 2023. We were able to respond quickly, sourcing and placing all 15 trainers within just 24 hours. Because they were already fully compliance-checked and onboarded, these trainers could start work immediately, without any administrative delays.

Our fast response played a critical role in ensuring that the training programme resumed on time and the Trust could progress towards the new go-live date.

Maintaining Momentum In The EPR Programme

Beyond providing the trainers, we continued to support UHCW by filling other crucial roles, including Cerner Test Analysts, Change Partners, Workstream Leads, and Project Support Officers. Each of these roles was essential in ensuring that the EPR system was successfully implemented, tested, and supported throughout the process.

Our ongoing recruitment efforts helped UHCW maintain the necessary momentum, ensuring that key tasks and milestones were met, contributing to the overall success of the EPR rollout.

Fully Onboarded And Compliant Resources

We ensured that all trainers were fully vetted and onboarded before placement, allowing them to begin work immediately. This proactive approach eliminated potential delays and allowed the Trust to restart training without further interruptions.

Our comprehensive compliance checks meant that the Trust could focus on delivering the training, confident that all regulatory and onboarding requirements were met.

The Delivery

Cerner Trainer Impact

Our ability to source and place the 15 Cerner Trainers within 24 hours had an immediate and positive impact on UHCW’s EPR programme. The trainers remained with the project until its completion, ensuring the Trust could catch up on lost time and maintain progress towards the revised go-live date.

Their involvement was critical in helping UHCW avoid further delays, ensuring the Trust could deliver the training needed to successfully implement the EPR system.

Impact On EPR Go-Live Timeline

With the training programme back on track, UHCW was able to meet its new go-live timeline. Our swift intervention in February 2024 meant that the Trust could resume progress and avoid any further disruptions, ensuring a smooth rollout of the EPR system.

By restarting the training process quickly and efficiently, we enabled UHCW to meet their deadlines and move forward with confidence.

Ongoing Support For Post-Go-Live Operations

Beyond the urgent provision of Cerner Trainers, we have continued to support UHCW in other critical areas of the EPR programme. By placing Test Analysts, Change Partners, and other key professionals, we have ensured that UHCW has the necessary expertise at every stage of the project, from planning to post-implementation support.

This ongoing support has been instrumental in maintaining the project’s momentum, allowing the Trust to achieve long-term success with its EPR system.
