ePMA Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled EPMA Pharmacist to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing our digital health initiatives and optimizing medication safety through the effective use of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) systems.

Job Summary:

As the EPMA Pharmacist, you will lead and support the implementation, development, and optimization of EPMA systems across the hospital. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and effective medication management. Your expertise in clinical pharmacy, combined with knowledge of electronic systems, will help shape our digital transformation efforts and improve patient outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • EPMA System Management: Lead the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the EPMA system, ensuring seamless integration with other healthcare IT systems.
  • Clinical Support: Provide clinical pharmacy expertise to ensure medication safety and effectiveness in the EPMA system, offering support to healthcare professionals and providing solutions for complex clinical scenarios.
  • Training & Education: Develop and deliver training programs for clinical staff on the effective use of EPMA, ensuring proper system usage and adherence to best practices.
  • Quality Improvement: Monitor and audit EPMA processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and patient care.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse prescribing data to identify trends, support medication optimization, and generate reports for clinical and management teams.
  • Policy & Governance: Support the development and review of medication-related policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, clinical, and operational teams to troubleshoot issues, implement updates, and improve system functionality.

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or relevant experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience with EPMA systems, including implementation and optimization.
  • Strong clinical pharmacy background with knowledge of safe prescribing practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience in training and educating healthcare professionals on systems and medication management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
